“Infallible Proofs”

(John 18). How do we know that something, or someone, is true? [Repeat] Who, here, has never been tricked? It would be fair to warn you. This is a trick Question. Centuries of Philosophers have wrestled with the nature of truth, reality and perception. Reading much of it is a special kind of torture. This is especially true when philosophers dive into the nature of Adamic perception. What say you? (John 18:37-38). The age-old Question, “What is truth?”, appears here!

Scripture Reading:  1 Samuel 12:10:

10) “And they [Israelites] cried unto the LORD, and said, We [Israelites] have sinned, because we [Israelites] have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us [Israelites] out of the hand of our [Israelite] enemies [Hazor, Philistines, and Moab], and we [Israelites] will serve thee [LORD God of Israel].”

Who were the gods, Baal and Ashtaroth, that our ancient fathers worshipped?  Are these the same gods that are worshipped today? Will the prayer be repeated by ancient Israel’s children?

Baal: Worshipped in ancient Palestine and recognized as local deities of specific regions who were believed to control fertility, rain, and crops. Holidays celebrated with this god included Halloween, Lent, and Christmas.

Ashtaroth: Astaroth or Astarte or Ishtar is a corrupted derivative of the Canaanite/Phoenician goddess of love and fertility. She was known as the “Queen of Heaven.” Holidays celebrated with this goddess included Easter.

This sermon is my view on which holidays or holy days are truly not Christian and why. It is my opinion and is not meant to cause anyone to be offended. It is not personal, it is factual. But it is one of the most difficult subjects to approach a family member or a close friend on. And one must approach them on this subject, if you don’t want to participate in all the activities around Christmas and Easter.

GERMANY LOST WW II ON MAY 9th,1941 WHY?  BECAUSE OF U-110 

Two ships of convoy O.B. 318, which was being escorted by the 3rd Escort Group, were torpedoed in position 60 20 N 33 40 W. from a position between Broadway and Aubretia. 

Both ships were in contact almost immediately and attacked the German U-boat, Broadway at 1208, Aubretia shortly afterward.  Bulldog was also in contact, and I could see that Aubretia's attack was effective. Bulldog had moved over to join in the hunt.

SCRIPTURE READING: Hebrews 8:1-8, RSV

A question for Christians often comes up, are we under law or under grace? Or both? There are those who believe we must keep the sabbaths and feasts today that Israel kept many centuries ago. For example, take the seven great religious festivals as found in Leviticus chapter 23: Passover, feast of unleavened bread, feast of firstfruits, feast of Pentecost, feast of Trumpets, Day of Atonement, and Tabernacles,—all typical of Christ. Here is an overview of the feasts and some of their prophetic meanings

These parts of the law are of interest to study, but they are not required as a condition for our redemption in Christ.

Scripture Reading  Deuteronomy 23:19, 20:

Is our God blessing us? Do our banks, which are mainly owned by foreigners, charge us usury/interest? We are not being blessed by the God of the Bible but are being cursed as we are slaves to our billionaire masters who charge us usury.

In the year 2000, there were nine countries without a Rothschild-owned or controlled central bank. In the year 2007, U.S. Army General and former NATO commander Wesley Clark, tells how he was given information about a classified military plan to “take out” seven countries in five years. 

The former commander of NATO’s forces claims that the Bush Administration was planning to attack (1) Iraq followed by action against (2) Syria, (3) Lebanon, (4) Libya, (5) Iran, (6) Somalia, and (7) Sudan. The general’s allegations surfaced in his book, The Clark Critique.

“The same yesterday, and today, and forever”

In prior Lessons we have explored the unfortunate Fact that Sheep give Stupid a new Name! Facts are stubborn things! And “stubborn” means we are born to stub our toes! We are counselled in James 5:12, “confess your faults one to another”, and in 2 Corinthians 12:10, “… take pleasure in infirmities”! In free confession before this local Body of Christ, I cannot recall in my eighties if I have ever taken pleasure in stubbing my toes!  It is such a Rude Reminder of my helpless mortality!

Therefore, this Lesson incorporates some precautionary provisions to help Sheep with Sheep avoid giving Stupidity a new name. This is more than cautionary.  This is precautionary. This is a major Statute of Bible Study in the form of a precautionary Question:  “Is this a doctrine of God, or a doctrine of man?!! 

The Davidic Covenant

SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 1:32-33

The title of this psalm is “A Contemplation of Ethan the Ezrahite.” There are several men named Ethan in the Scriptures, but this man is mentioned specifically in 1 Kings 4:31 as someone who was famous for his wisdom, but surpassed by Solomon’s greater wisdom. Ethan is probably identical with Jeduthun, who founded one of the three choirs authorized by King David.

The prime idea around Psalm 89 is the Davidic Covenant. The Davidic Covenant guarantees the existence of David’s family throughout history and brings into view the ultimate kingship of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is unbelievable how most theologians today make little comment or study of this covenant. Most systematic theology books used in Bible colleges and seminaries make no mention of it. It is almost as if the Davidic Covenant had no place in the Word of God. Is there no interest in the concept of covenant; or worse, is the whole idea being purposely ignored by a majority of theologians? And why? Is it because a serious interest in this topic will lead them to discover their identity as Israelites? I would say so.

Scripture Reading:  Matthew 2:19, 20

Who was Herod the Great? Herod was ethnically an Idumaean (Edomite, a descendant of Esau). About a century before his birth, his family was forced to convert to the God of Israel’s laws when they were captured by the Israelites under the rule of John Hyrcanus. They did not faithfully keep these laws (they couldn’t keep them), but in fact they took control of the nation. The Edomites (Idumaeans) became the rulers over the kingdom of Judah. At the time of Christ, the House of Israel (ten tribes) had been taken in captivity for over seven centuries and were not living in the Promise Land--there were only Israelite Judeans and Edomite Judeans who were living in the land of Judaea.

Herod’s father was a descendant of Esau and his mother was a descendant of Ishmael. King Herod the Great was a very real, very dangerous man. The region that he was king over was very unstable in the first century AD. In the centuries before Jesus’ birth, it had been ruled by the Greeks, then by the Ptolemies, then the Seleucid Empire, then the Maccabees, then a century later the Romans. 

Song for a Royal Wedding

SCRIPTURE READING: Revelation 19:7

The title of Psalm 45 is “To the Chief Musician. Set to ‘The Lilies.’ A Contemplation of the sons of Korah. A Song of Love” (NKJV). These sons of Korah were Levites, from the family of Kohath. By David’s time they served within the musical aspects of the temple worship. “And the Levites, of the Kohathites and the Korahites, stood up to praise the LORD, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice” (2 Chr. 20:19, RSV).

Set to “The Lilies” may refer to the tune or general beauty of the composition, or even to a six-stringed instrument known as the Shoshannim (H7799). Some say a straight trumpet.

It is possible that this psalm was the occasion of a literal marriage of a real king and his bride; such as Solomon with Pharaoh’s daughter. But, it definitely has a prophetic fulfillment in Jesus Christ with his Church.
