Rush to Destruction

The Wake-up Herald

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light. Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfill the lusts thereof. Romans 13:11-14

America's Rush to Destruction
By Robert McCurry

I began warning pastors and churches in particular and America at large forty years ago of a coming sodomite invasion of the American culture unless there was a biblical spiritual awakening to counter-act their agenda. The invasion has arrived. The spiritual awakening is yet to come.

America’s sodomite invasion has been all-inclusive to the culture; with the endorsement, power and influence of the media, Hollywood, public education, government—including the occupant of the White House—and the silence and passivity of America’s pastors and churches, with a few exceptions, its message, agenda and goals are known and promulgated from the Kindergarten classrooms to the mega College classrooms and endorsed by most of America’s largest corporations.

Sodomy n. = “anal or oral copulation with a member of the same sex.”  It is a satanic perversion of God’s designed marriage and family order.

perversion n. = “the action of perverting something (turning it to a wrong use)”.

Everything about the sodomy abomination subject is perverted, including its identifying descriptive words; the biblical word sodomy has been changed to “homosexual” (the word homosexual was first used in 1892 in the English translation of Krafft-Ebing's "Psychopathia sexualis" on sexual perversions; the word “homosexual” did not appear in any translation of the Christian Bible until 1946); sodomites were once described as “queer” (Sense of "homosexual" first recorded 1922);sodomites are now described as “gay” (Slang meaning "homosexual" (adj.) begins to appear in psychological writing late 1940s, evidently picked up from gay slang); marriage has been changed to include persons of the same gender.

But “sodomy” is more than a “perverted sexual act”; it is also a “perverted spirit”; many, including Christians, who are repulsed at even the thought of participating in the sexual act of sodomy, do not hesitate in taking pleasure in those who do. How? By being entertained and laughing at TV sitcoms or a Hollywood movie featuring sodomites or that includes a sodomite theme or favorable sodomite references.

A “sodomite spirit” is an all-inclusive “perverted spirit” to God’s ordained perfect law regarding all of life.

Matthew Henry describes America’s road to destruction:

“Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sisterSodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy. And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good (Ezek 16:49, 50).

Wherein Jerusalem’s sins resembled her sisters’, particularly Sodom’s (Ezek. 16:49): This was the iniquity of Sodom (it is implied, and this is thy iniquity too), pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness. Their going after strange flesh, which was Sodom’s most flagrant wickedness, is not mentioned, because notoriously known, but those sins which did not look so black, but opened the door and led the way to these more enormous crimes, and began to fill that measure of her sins, which was filled up at length by their unnatural filthiness. Now these initiating sins were,

1. Pride, in which the heart lifts up itself above and against both God and man. Pride was the first sin that turned angels into devils, and the garden of the Lord into a hell upon earth. It was the pride of the Sodomites that they despised righteous Lot, and would not bear to be reproved by him; and this ripened them for ruin.

2. Gluttony, here called fulness of bread. It was God’s great mercy that they had plenty, but their great sin that they abused it, glutted themselves with it, ate to excess and drank to excess, and made that the gratification of their lusts which was given them to be the support of their lives.

3. Idleness, abundance of idleness, a dread of labour and a love of ease. Their country was fruitful, and the abundance they had they came easily by, which was a temptation to them to indulge themselves in sloth, which disposed them to all that abominable filthiness which kindled their flames. Note, Idleness is an inlet to much sin. The men of Sodom, who were idle, were wicked, and sinners before the Lord exceedingly, Gen. 13:13. The standing waters gather filth and the sitting bird is the fowler’s mark.

4. Oppression: Neither did she strengthen the hands of the poor and needy; probably it is implied that she weakened their hands and broke their arms; however, it was bad enough that, when she had so much wealth, and consequently power and interest and leisure, she did nothing for the relief of the poor, in providing for whose wants those that themselves are full of bread may employ their time well; they need not be so abundantly idle as too often they are.

These were the sins of the Sodomites, and these were Jerusalem’s sins [—and they are America’s sins—]. Their pride, the cause of their sins, is mentioned again (Ezek. 16:50): They were haughty, with the horrid effects of their sins, their abominations which they committed before God. Men arrive gradually at the height of impiety and wickedness. No man reaches the height of vice at once. But, where pride has got the ascendant in a man, he is in the high road to all abominations.

“The fool has said in his heart, there is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good” (Psalm 14:1). The fool has said in his heart, there is no God.Corrupt are they, and have done abominableiniquity: there is none that doethgood” (Psalm 53:1).

“Benotdeceived ; Godisnotmocked : forwhatsoeveramansoweth , that shall healsoreap . For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting” (Gal 6:7, 8).

“As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die?” (Ezek 33:11)

“He, that being often reproved hardeneth his neck, shall suddenly be destroyed, and that without remedy (Prov 29:1).
