In 1950, when Broken Arrow was produced, there were 29 out of 50 (58%) states which forbad mixed marriage.  This map shows the general repeal of anti-miscegination laws: 

Grey states never had any anti-miscegination laws. 

Green states:  Anti-miscegination law repealed before 1887.

Yellow states:  Anti-miscegination law repealed between 1948 to 1967.

Red states:  Anti-miscegination law repealed after June 1967.
