Exodus

Sermon notes by Jim Jester

May 1, 2022

SCRIPTURE READING: Exodus 15:11-13 & 17-18

INTRODUCTION

Of all the books in the Bible, the book of Exodus ought to be the simplest book to recognize the racial implications contained therein. The message of identity is obvious in the language of Scripture, even though the judeo-Christian world refuses to acknowledge it. All we can say is “come now, let us reason together.”

In the “burning bush” experience, Moses meets the God of his fathers; and God says to him; “Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.” (Ex. 3:10)

The Israelites had been in Egypt 215 years (most say over 400 years); the twelve sons of Jacob/Israel had long passed on. Now the Israelites were a multitudinous number, feared by the Egyptians, and made slaves to Pharaoh. God spoke to Moses with the promise of deliverance for His people, the progeny of Israel. The deliverance (the salvation), was not for the Egyptians, but for the covenant people of God. “My people” denotes possession.

Rebuke

Scripture Reading:  1 Timothy 5:20

Who among us has witnessed “rebuke before all” in any church assembly?  Who has witnessed someone in church assembly being rebuked “before all”?  Is this rare or nonexistent?  According to the verse above, when are we commanded to rebuke?  Are we commanded to rebuke when sin is in active commission?  Is watching the Stupid Bowl a sin? Greetings kindred and fellow sheep.  Who here does not see the need for this lesson?

Luke 17:3 Take heed to yourselves:   If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him;  and if he repent, forgive him.

If Jesus was in this pulpit right now, and said “take heed to yourselves”, what would we do?  Does it sound very dangerous if we do not “take heed” to ourselves?  Is it unthinkable to mess this up?!  How difficult is it to think of ourselves being in law enforcement?  Does rebuking someone sound risky?  Before we try this risky rebuking stuff, would we want to know a lot more about it?

What is “rebuke”?  Rebuke is translated from the Koine Greek word G2008 epitimao, ep-ee-tee-mah’-o, whose seed meaning is to censure.  Have we heard of legislative bodies censuring one or more of its members?  G2008 epitimaho is also translated elsewhere charge.  In two places in The Gospels Jesus charged the Apostles not to tell anyone he is The Christ, or Messiah.

It’s Official: The American Church Is Apostate

By Pastor Chuck Baldwin

“I’ve [Pastor Chuck Baldwin have] known for many years that the Church in America has fallen to the lowest spiritual state of its entire existence. I’ve tried to warn Christians in both this column and my public speaking to the dismal state of today’s churches. Faithful readers are very much aware of those warnings.

But now, studied research confirms all I have warned about over the past several decades, and it’s actually worse than I thought: The American Church is not just derelict; it is apostate.

Does the Scripture Sanction the Sacraments? by Pastor Jim Jester

April 10, 2022

The question before us as a church is, does the Bible demand that we observe the alleged sacraments of the historic Christian faith?

Holy Communion by Pastor Don Elmore

There are different ways and different formulas that every church uses.  Which one is correct or are several correct?  Which ones are wrong?  They all can’t be correct.  Maybe none are correct. What are we as a covenant church to believe and do?

Scriptural Events After the 1st Resurrection

Presented by Garry Maddux

April 3, 2021

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 23:3-8

My name is Garry, I am honored to be able to share today. The title of my message is Scriptural Events After the 1st Resurrection. I have enjoyed studying future events in the bible since I was in high school. I believe God has given us special areas to study. Some like bible history, some like current events as related to the Bible, some like mysteries of the bible. My passion is the future prophecy relating to the tribulation and future Kingdom here on the earth. So today, I will share a little about myself,  happenings shortly after the 1st resurrection, and experiences later in the Kingdom.

Stranger Danger

Notes of Pastor Matthew Dyer

March 27, 2021

Scrripture Reading Genesis 15:13

This is going to be more of a Bible word study than a sermon this morning, but I think the subject matter is very important, because if one reads the Old Testament and doesn’t understand this word we are going to talk about this morning, one can get rather confused, and also see what seem to be contradictions in the scriptures.

The word we are going to look at this morning is going to be the word Stranger, or what has been translated as Stranger in English from the Hebrew in the Old Testament. I think maybe a good title for this message would be Stranger Danger, like the Neighborhood Watch program’s slogan. Because if one does not understand what the Hebrew word is being used when Stranger is translated in to English in the Old Testament, this person is in for some dangerous theological errors.

Scripture Reading John 6:55 My flesh is meat indeed and my blood is drink indeed.”

How many believe the above quotation is from The Scriptures?  The quotation is from The Scriptures.  It is incomplete.

The first word “for” got left off.  “For” translates the Koine Greek word gar G1063 from the New Testament, a primary particle, assigning a reason.

How could someone’s flesh being food, and blood being drink, be an assignable reason for anything?!Cannibal is a compound word composed of Cain and Baal.  Does that tell us something? Baal worship?

I Have a Dream

Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 23:21, 25, 31, 32

Who is Jeremiah writing about?  Who are the false prophets who are lying to His covenant people?  Who prophesies false dreams which shall not profit His people at all?

The following is from an email that I received from Pastor Lawrence Blanchard.  He got it from the American Renaissance website, January 17, 2022.  The article was written by Jared Taylor and was named, “Eyewitness Report:  A Multi-cultural Inauguration for Virginia”.

“In 2020, Virginia voted 55 percent to 45 percent for Joe Biden over Donald Trump, so Glenn Youngkin’s upset is supposed to herald great things for Republicans. Republicans depend on whites —  85 percent of Mr. Trump’s 2020 voters were white — and the huge crowd at the inauguration was more than overwhelmingly white.

Perspective on Ukraine

by Pastor Jim Jester, 2022

March 6, 2022

Scripture Reading: Job 14:1-2

Introduction

Who would have thought that we now face the real possibility of WWIII with all the trouble and tribulation that goes with it? Many are wondering, “…What in the world is going on; this is crazy.” Even the well-known Glenn Beck on his talk show is asking listeners to call in and let him know what’s going on. He confessed he cannot quite grasp what is happening — that something is not quite right. He is usually good at putting things together on the global scale, but not about the war against Ukraine. I wanted to call in and say, “Glenn, it’s really quite simple… (etc.)” And yes, Mr. Beck, there’s more to this than simply the weakness of O’Biden — it is his hostile moves of military hardware and failed diplomacy. This is a point that should be known to all the so-called conservatives, for without this knowledge (i.e., global conspiracy) they must side with the Left. [Note: Three days later Beck says he figured it out — that it is a “trap” for the U.S. that we must avoid. In that, he is partly correct.]

Perspective and Preparation in These Times

by Pastor Lawrence Blanchard

December 26, 2021

Scripture Reading:  2 Kings 17:6-18

In Old Testament times, Israel's wickedness had gone too far and to a point of no return.  We are in that position again and we are in a state of extreme judgment.  We must prepare for ongoing judgment.
